Words can’t adequately express our deep appreciation for your support of the first Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) beNeFit gala in downtown Detroit.
We were moved by the turnout, and speechless with the results. You helped us accomplish what we had set out to do – break all fundraising records for a CTF-related event.
As a result of your generosity, we raised nearly $2.3 million! This is a phenomenal accomplishment for a first-year event, and you were a vital part of it. We are already thinking about beNeFit II. Although the bar has been set very high, we are confident that with your continued support, we will be able to top this year’s excellent outcome.
We celebrated Victor Chukwueke as the first honoree for the 'Strength and Honor' Award. From his diagnosis of neurofibromatosis in a country with few medical resources to treat his disfiguring tumor, to his miraculous new life in America, Victor’s story touches to the core. What Victor has endured and conquered is living testimony to just how strong the human spirit can be when it exists within the soul of a human being for whom the words "I can’t … I won’t … I give up" simply do not exist.
Thank you again for joining us in the fight to treat and eventually cure this devastating disorder.
